Storytimes

Regular Storytimes will return in January

Choose the session that works for you:

Preschool Storytime – Mondays at 10:30am
Stories, songs, and rhymes for children ages 3 – 5 years old.

Toddler Tales Storytime-Tuesdays at 10:30am
Stories, songs, and rhymes for children 2 – 3 years old and their caregivers. 

Waddlers Storytime – Wednesdays at 10:30am
Stories, songs, and rhymes for babies and little ones up to 24 months old and their caregivers.

Adapted Storytime – Monthly on a Saturday at 10:15am (check calendar for date)
Children with varying learning styles and abilities are invited to come together in a supported environment to participate in stories, songs, and activities where respect for differences is practiced and encouraged. The program will last 15-20 minutes, followed by social time. Content is designed for ages 3-7, but all ages are welcome!  Parents and siblings are also welcome and encouraged to attend! Registration is required.

Music & Movement Storytime – Monthly on a Friday at 11:15am (check calendar for date)
Stretch, sing, dance, and jump along in this fast-paced storytime. Designed for ages 2-6 and their caregivers and will include stories, songs, instruments and more!

  • A Visit with Santa and the Grinch

    12/13/25 @ 11:00am – 12/13/25 @ 12:00pm Community Room A/B Amherst Public Library Registration is required. Registration starts: 12/31/1969 @ 7:00pm Registration end: 12/13/2025 @ 12:00pm Santa Claus is coming to town! Santa will visit the library on Saturday, December 13 from 11am-12pm. Bring your camera for a photo and enjoy holiday crafts and activities while you wait! Be on the lookout for the Grinch himself sneaking around the library and snag a picture with him too!Santa will be available for photos from 11am – 11:45am. At 11:45am, Santa will lead us in a story and a song before he leaves the library!Registration is required. Please register each child separately.   • Library Time: An Adapted Storytime for Adults with Intellectual Disabilities

    12/17/25 @ 11:30am – 12/17/25 @ 12:30pm Community Room A/B Amherst Public Library Registration is required. Registration starts: 12/31/1969 @ 7:00pm Registration end: 12/17/2025 @ 11:30am Library Time is an adapted storytime for adults with intellectual disabilities. The program is focused on literacy, music and movement, and social interaction.  Registration is required for each monthly session. Register below or call the library at 440-988-4230. Please register no more than 5 participants per group (not including group staff).  Call the Youth Services department at 440-988-4230 (option 3) with any questions.

Storytime Gallery
