Spring Street Seed Library
The Spring Street Seed Library at the Amherst Public Library was established in April 2026. This free community resource is located on the first floor of the library in a repurposed card catalog.
The seed library offers a diverse variety of fruit, vegetable, herb, and flower seeds, which are available at no cost and do not require a library card to access.
Thank you to the Amherst Garden Club, Giant Eagle, Home Depot, Lowe’s, OPN Seed, and our community members who have generously donated seeds. These donations will help us continue to provide community members access to flowers, fruits, vegetables, and native plants well into 2027!
The Spring Street Seed Library is available year-round. Check back often as we add additional varieties throughout the seasons!
If you have any questions about the Spring Street Seed Library, please contact our PR department at 440-988-4230 (option 5) or pr@amherstpubliclibrary.org.
Even if you didn’t get a chance to take advantage of the seed library in its inaugural year, we would love to know your thoughts! Please take a moment to complete our End of Season Survey, available through October 31, 2026. (Link: https://forms.gle/
